Final Presentation MKII

For our final gathering we will all get to experience the Unbuilt Architecture Fabrications together from 11:00 on Wed (25th) in Lab1 again.

By way of a glimpse at the work the 6 groups have achieved in this segment of the course here are a few quick screenshots from the respective models:

GroupA : Beaver Dam Theatre (blog)

Group1 : Silkborg Museum (blog)

GroupB : Wombarra House (blog)

Group2 : Canberra High Court (blog)

GroupC : NY Homeless Housing (blog)

Group3 : UK School (blog)

Remember to take some time to think through what elements of each fabrication is successful, which areas you would do differently or indeed which sections of the process you may want to concentrate on for the remainder of your degree.

To grab a copy of the maps to explore in your own time as well, please collect them from the samples folder and copy them to the utgame folder in your profile. If you have questions or problems with this part please just ask as there are a mixture of cooked and uncooked maps and other things to remember.

Fabrication Presentation

Teams,
For our presentation session at 11:00 on Wednesday there are a few things everyone needs to do.
Remember to build the map to accommodate multiple players (24 if all goes to plan) and it needs to stand on its own in the same way the Falling Water model did (as in someone should be able to explore the map without any external commentary, Falling Water uses signs at the start - maybe you can think of other things as well).

Once you have your map happy in the editor (and your files neat and tidy in the right folders), hit the COOK icon in the toolbar to create a published version of your map and packages. These files (now under something like My Documents, MyGames, Unreal Tournament 3, UTGame, Published, CookedPC, CustomMaps) are the ones that need to be submitted and loaded onto the server here at 9am Wed.
If you want to bring us one today (Tues) then, we can check that what you have already is working on on our machine that will run the game for you (in BECU).

Please submit the files into 2 locations for us:
Firstly into the Submit area on Emustore in the ARCH1392 folders.
Secondly into FILEFRONT with link on a blog for remote players to find.

During the actual presentation we will have the groups run through in order, with the current group not 'in game' - allowing everyone else to explore the unbuilt world you have fabricated for us. We will connect speakers to a few of the machines and a large screen to get some atmosphere going as well.

Not long to go now everyone.

ps. Questions/Problems - charge into BECU and see Graham or Jeremy
